The Reform Party ticket for President and Vice President, Andre Barnett and Ken Cross, can be validly written in many states and is certified to be counted in the following states:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Delaware
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Maryland
  • Montana
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Vermont
  • Washington
  • Wyoming

Each state has slightly different write-in formats, but courts in almost every state have held that as long as voter intent is clear, minor variations in spelling for write-in votes does not disallow a vote.  Of course, many states will have different opinions on what ‘minor variations’ are.

We recommend that at the least you write in the full name of the Presidential Candidate “Andre Barnett“.  If you see that the other ballot lines where named President/VP are listed use a format like Romney/Ryan then you can probably write in “Barnett/Cross” instead.  Or if the ballot lists Barack Obama with Joe Biden in much smaller type, you could probably just write in “Andre Barnett“.  The key here is to make it clear you intend to vote for Andre Barnett as President.
