Earlier this week, the House GOP passed an Obamacare repeal bill. This bill was passed among partisan lines, except for twenty GOP members that voted with the Democrats. The American Healthcare Act, (AHCA) however will die in the Senate, because a number of GOP Senators have come out against the bill.
This bill, like many other bills, was tactical political theater. By passing a symbolc bill in the House and dismissing it in the Senate, the GOP hopes to secure votes from the far right in future elections – without alienating moderate conservatives. It was not intended to create change, or progress a real agenda. American voters should not be fooled by this political tactic.
