Moody’s is the latest credit agency to downgrade the credit rating of the United States. This marked the third time in ten years that the United States had its credit rating downgraded by a credit agency.
“The United States legislature has not prepared a balanced budget since 1999,” said Reform Party Vicechairman Leigh Pollet. “We have a debt of 36.2 trillion dollars that grows every day. We cannot continue to borrow and spend. The United States must create a plan to balance its budget and repay its debts. This downgrade should have been expected.”
