Healthcare policies:
The Reform Party will build healthcare policies from the belief that health care is better managed between the doctor and the patient without government or insurance provider intervention.
Barriers which prevent doctors and patients from making sound medical decisions, restricting the movement forward on those decisions, should be removed.
Patients must be made aware of and have access to true costs and benefits of medical services, while provided greater transparency regarding the quality of care by doctors, nurses, and hospitals. To control a patient’s costs, we must look at administrative, insurance, medical equipment, and pharmaceutical costs.
There must be actual comprehensive healthcare reform including, but not limited to, physician accountability, elimination of frivolous medical lawsuits, quality of care, reduction of administrative, insurance, medical equipment, and pharmaceutical costs, and adequate insurance coverage. Broadly reducing actual healthcare costs that affect the patient’s price of services rendered is the first priority for making healthcare affordable for everyone.
