The Reform Party of New York State held a ‘Special Convention’ today to discuss a number of pertinent topics including endorsing a candidate for President of the United States. In a vote by the recognized delegates, the Reform Party of New York State unanimously endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for President of the United States.
This follows the Reform Party of the United States’ May convention where the party nominated Robert “Bobby” Kennedy for President.
The RPNYS’s executive committee of Matt Downs, Secretary, Richard Walker, Vice-Chair and Leigh Pollet, Chair, issued the following statement:
“The Reform Party of New York State is excited to follow the Reform Party of the United States in its nomination of ‘Bobby’ Kennedy for President by a unanimous vote of the recognized New York State delegates.
We are excited to work with the Kennedy campaign to elect as the next President of the United States, a unifying candidate not a divisive one. A candidate who will return politics and our government of this great nation back to The People and not a handful of career politicians.
‘Bobby’ Kennedy represents not only the 60% of the American people who identify as ‘independent’ but also all of the people still registered as members of the two major parties who realize that the two parties do not represent their interests but are only about staying in power.
It is about time to finally have a really independent President of and for all of the people and not about the power and money influences that the two major parties are really all about. We ask all of the people of New York State, in the upcoming election, to stand up, let the country know that the time has come to elect an independent candidate for President and have the courage to vote their conscience for the best candidate for President: Robert F. ‘Bobby’ Kennedy, Jr.”
