CSX takes taxpayer dollars for the use of their tracks for AMTRAK trains. CSX takes taxpayer subsidies. CSX takes infrastructure grants from the US government, paid for out of general funds. Under the management of the new CEO, Hunter Harrison, taxpayer subsidized services on CSX tracks have been affected by gross negligence.
This negligence has hindered the AMTRAK train service while CSX got paid as if the trains ran on time. Either Hunter Harrison needs to fix these issues, repay government funds as penalty for not meeting the terms of CSX’s contract, or resign from his position to allow a more competent administrator to take the reigns and fulfill CSX’s commitments to the government.
