With the current international and national flare of uncertainty and in some cases hostility, the United States is moving from one perilous moment to another. It is the belief of the Reform Party that both major parties have for generations taken advantage of such discord to push their agendas above the needs of those they were hired by vote to represent. With inflation already at a 40-year high, interest rates rising, and fuel costs ballooning; the budgets of poor and middle-class Americans are being crushed. In addition, costs to corporations for fuel are passed on to consumers and prices at the pump continue to climb ever upwards. To this end, the Reform Party of the United States unequivocally asks both the Biden administration and Congress to stop their posturing for political points, do the jobs they were hired to do in protecting the US citizenry in such times, and choose from any or all of these options that the Reform Party offers as a solution:
1: Temporarily suspend federal fuel taxation, until such time fuel prices return to normal market rate and price at the pump.
2: Create a federal subsidy for the state and end-consumer level allowing for state and local fuel taxes to be temporarily suspended
3: To strenuously investigate, prosecute and penalize any seller of crude or end-consumer petroleum products that are employing price gouging tactics to reap excess profits at this time of national and international emergency
4: Relax the regulatory environment of national energy production allowing for near immediate relief from the current financial strain being felt throughout the US economy
