With a vote of 51 to 50, after more than 24 hours of amendment votes, all but 3 Senate Republicans voted to pass the GOP’s 900+ page Big “Beautiful” Bill. Now the amended bill goes back to the House of Representatives for reconciliation.
Despite their vow to “drain the swamp,” and pass “common sense legislation,” this bill is anything but that.
Common sense tells us that our national debt is ballooning out of control, yet the bill will add another $3.8 TRILLION to the debt.
Common sense tells us that it’s the average American that needs help, yet the bill provides tax cuts for the rich at the expense of the average American.
Common sense tells us that healthcare access should be something easy to get, yet the bill makes enrolling in and retaining ACA health plans more difficult, and shortens the enrollment window.
Common sense tells us that rural hospitals rely on federal grant money to provide services due to their low patient count, yet the Medicaid funding reduction will push 100s of rural hospitals to reduce the services they provide or even close.
And on, and on, and on…
Since the bill’s creation, the Reform Party has been opposed to it. The bill flies in the face of common sense. The bill flies in the face of fiscal responsibility. The swamp only gets murkier as the national debt rises while the rich get all the benefits. With it now back on the House floor, we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. To our representatives, for the benefit of the people, the Big, “Beautiful” Bill must fail!
